Wine courses with a difference - courses to suit you.

You can sign up for just those sessions that particularly interest you, or come along to all of them.  Courses are being run in two locations so that, if you find you can't make it along to a class in one place, you can swap to the other one.

The courses are designed for people who enjoy wine but would like to know more about what they drink - as well as for people who already have the "wine bug" but are interested in furthering their knowledge.  The atmosphere is warm and informal - and there is no such thing as a silly question!  The course is all about exploring the world of wine, with practical tasting of wines each week - these are not dry lectures!

Sessions cost £25 per person, at either location.  The cost includes six wines to taste at each session, provision of tasting glasses for the evening and training materials.  If you sign up for all six sessions then the total price is £125, so you get one session absolutely free!  To book your place on any session, please send a cheque, payable to Red White & Rosé, to:

Heather Dougherty
Chestnuts
Lower Farm Road
Effingham
Surrey  KT24 5JJ

Please specify which session(s) and locations you are booking for.  Please also provide a contact name and telephone number so that I can get in touch with you if necessary.  No place is confirmed until I have received payment.

Sessions are offered at these locations:

East Horsley Village Hall
Kingston Avenue
East Horsley
KT24 6QT

The sessions run on Monday evenings from 7.30pm - 9.30pm.  The hall is a five minute walk from Horsley train station and has plenty of car parking spaces.

The Guildford Institute
Ward Street (on the corner with North Street)
Guildford
GU1 4LH

Sessions run on Wednesday evenings from 7.30pm - 9.30pm.  The institute is a grade II listed Victorian building right in the centre of Guildford, almost opposite the central library.  It is about ten minutes' walk from either Guildford or London Road train stations.  Leapale car park is the closest public car park.

Organic wines - Guildford

Date: 29/10/2008
Time: 7:30 PM

Name:
Address: , , ,

Description: Organic produce is selling in record quantities in the UK.  Yet wines labelled organic can often be disappointing and offer poor value for money.  Why is this?  Are there good (and good value) organic wines to be found?

The answer is yes and this session will leave you with some pointers on what the term "organic" means for wine and where to look for good organic wines - based on wines that we taste together during the evening.

You can also discover the world of biodynamic wines, which are becoming one of the fastest-growing and most talked-about ways of wine-growing.  What does biodynamic mean?  What do the wines taste like?  Where can you buy them?

Come along and taste these wines for yourself and decide whether you think they offer good value for money.

Cost per person:  £25, including six wines to taste, use of wine tasting glasses and training materials.

The session runs from:  7.30pm - 9.30pm
Location:  Lecture Room
Guildford Institute
Ward Street
Guildford
GU1 4LH
